Frequently asked questions - and answers....
Are you in walking distance of a beach?
Yes, Traethlyfn beach, (pronounced tray-thloo-in), is only 20 minutes walk along the Coastal Path. The beach is owned by the National Trust and is one of the most spectacular beaches in the area. In addition, Abereiddy beach is 5 minutes drive away, or the popular Whitesands beach is only 15 minutes drive away.
Are there shops nearby?
There is a small "convenience" store in Porthgain, open during the school holidays. A lovely local village shop 5 minutes drive away and small supermarkets in St Davids and Fishguard.
Are you close to the Coastal Path?
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Coastal Path runs through Porthgain which is 5 minutes walk away - so we are well placed for walkers. Local busses also run past the end of our lane so you can catch a bus out to a more distant location and walk back.
Do you accept dogs?
We generally accept one dog outside the busy school summer holidays, but please call us for details.
Where are you?
We are five minutes walk inland from the picturesque fishing village of Porthgain and the cottages overlook the sea. We are also halfway between st Davids and Fishguard and so all the best coastal walks are on our doorstep. To see where we are in Pembrokeshire... link to
Map For those of you who take a look at the satellite image, don't worry there is not a building site at Felindre. The satelite flew over about 3 years ago and took that picture when we were replacing our old wooden lodges with lovely new ones.
The work is now complete and all is peaceful.
Is there a pub nearby?
The Sloop Inn is only 5 minutes walk through the fields in the village of Porthgain. The Sloop is a friendly, family pub which offers good food and good company.
Is there off road parking?
We are down a small farm track so there is no through traffic and ample parking for two cars.
Do the lodges have bed linen and towels?
All the beds are made up ready for you. We also have tea towels but don't supply beach, bath or hand towels, so please bring your own.
Do you have a DVD player?
The lodges all have a DVD player as well as a TV with SKY Freeview.
Do you have an open fire?
No, sorry. The lodges have underfloor heating. They are warm and comfortable, but if you want to sit in front of an open fire you'll have to go down to the Sloop!

Can I book for one night?
We do Short Breaks and you can book for one night but it is not generally cost effective - it depends on what you want.
How do I book?
You can email us to reserve a lodge, but we always ask that you phone us within 24 hours to confirm everything, (we normally never accept a booking without talking to you as we want to make sure what we have is what you want).
Where is your booking form?
Once we have spoken to you we will normally mail you a brochure and booking form, but if you want one on line..... Click on this for the Booking Form
Can I book online?
We could set it up so you could see our detailed availability, then press a button to book and pay by credit card. But unlike holidays in hotels where the rooms tend to be standardised, our cottages are all different so we want to talk to you to find out exactly what you are looking for and make sure you have the best holiday possible. If we don't think we are suitable for you we will even tell you that! So please telephone us and tell us exactly what you are looking for in a holiday and we will tell you if we have it, or not!.... .
